National Command & Leadership College
Confers MAGNUS Status on 34 Law Enforcement Officers

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. – The International Academy of Public Safety’s National Command & Staff College has conferred MAGNUS Star Performer status on 34 law enforcement officers, who graduated June 15 from the organization’s first 8-week Leadership Education Program. The ceremony, including presentation of several awards, was held at the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Center and Special Services Complex in Luling, LA.

In summing up her experience, Lt. Sarah Rhodes, Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, said: “The program caused me to think out of the box and to develop a mindset as a MAGNUS leader that I can apply at work to change things for the good within my organization and in the law enforcement environment as a whole.”

College Chancellor Mitch Javidi, Ph.D., said students read seven books, participated in more than 6,300 hours of blended online and classroom lectures, discussed numerous best practices, researched and wrote 48 case study essays and participated in scenario-based interactive simulations.

“The demanding nature of the program is designed to promote a sense of true accomplishment among participants,” said Javidi. “We are very proud of our first graduates and MAGNUS Star Performer conferees. These remarkable individuals light the way for others in law enforcement and represent a commitment by their respective organizations to develop individual excellence, ensure agency effectiveness and improve community impact.”
