About Sheriff Champagne
Sheriff Greg Champagne was born and raised in St. Charles Parish.
He and Alice Landry Champagne have been married for more than 30 years. Their daughter, Rochelle C. Fahrig, is an attorney. Their son, Greg Champagne Jr., a commercial pilot.
Sheriff Champagne attended Hahnville High School and graduated from Nicholls State University in 1979 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Government. Upon graduation, Greg was named to the Nicholls State University Hall of Fame and subsequently as one of its Outstanding Alumni. He went on to receive his law degree from the Louisiana State University Law Center in 1982. He served as an assistant district attorney in St. Charles Parish for nearly 14 years and earned a reputation as being a tough, but fair prosecutor with a 94% conviction rate.
Sheriff Champagne has twice graduated from the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia; first from the FBI’s Law Institute for Prosecutors and more recently from the FBI’s Law Enforcement Executive Development Program. He has attended numerous training programs during his 30-year law enforcement career. These include The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Northwestern University of Chicago’s Graduate School for Prosecutors. He has also represented the National Sheriff’s Association at two international counter-terrorism training programs that focused on the detection and prevention of terrorism and general public security measures in both Israel and England.

** CANCELLATION POLICY – The National Command & Staff College does not provide any refund for cancellations. This is due to the fact that tuition for the course is set so low to ensure the program seats are filled. Furthermore, in certain locations, tuition is connected to a scholarship that is awarded upon enrollment. Agencies are encouraged to provide the college with new participants’ names if they wish to substitute attendees. This substitution is allowed up to 5 p.m. of week 1 of the on-line course. Please contact Ms. Bass at firstname.lastname@example.org to make substitutions. National Command & Staff College has the right to reschedule the session if a minimum enrollment of 30 seats is not fulfilled.
